David King studied Organ with Dr Douglas Hopkins, Harpsichord with Judith Lambden and Composition with Hans Heimler. He was awarded the degree of BMus by the University of Durham in 1980. David
has been composing for a number of years and writes mainly for choir
and organ, though he has written songs, instrumental pieces and
chamber works. As a practising liturgical musician he is aware of the
limitations that constrain music in many churches and many of his
compositions reflect this.
David composed 'King of Glory' in
2003 to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Devizes Chamber Choir.

Over
many year David has conducted many church, school and secular choirs
in a wide variety of repertoire and has directed a number of first
performances.
David directs the choral music at Trowbridge
United Church and has previously directed Organum (a Bath based
choir) and the Devizes Chamber Choir. He works widely in the northern
part of Wiltshire as a freelance Choral Director and organist.

David King - Recitalist and Organist
David
has directed the music at churches in London, Surrey, Sussex,
Worcestershire and Wiltshire and has been giving recitals in the UK
since the late 1960s. He is Organist and Choir Director at Trowbridge
United Church, Hon. Treasurer of the Salisbury Diocesan Choral
Festival Group and President of the Wiltshire & Bath Organists'
Association.
